Los pacientes mayores requieren m&aacute;s cuidados, con el modelo actual de atenci&oacute;n que se les brinda, se espera que los costos se incrementen, aunque costos m&aacute;s elevados ya son insostenibles para los sistemas de salud. Por esta raz&oacute;n, es necesario generar un nuevo patr&oacute;n para la pr&aacute;ctica m&eacute;dica. La telemedicina surge como una herramienta altamente efectiva y necesaria en geriatr&iacute;a.<\/p>\n<p>Esta revisi&oacute;n presentar&aacute; algunos de los antecedentes y evidencias para la telemedicina como forma de enfrentar los retos de la geriatr&iacute;a a trav&eacute;s de la telemedicina geri&aacute;trica.
